Advice is provided on :
•
Grant Applications – our
Company has considerable experience of the range of grant funding
available for woodland creation and woodland management. In
the main this funding is available via the Forestry Commission
from the recently announced Scottish Forestry Grants Scheme
however additional funding is available from Scottish Natural
Heritage and SEERAD via the Rural Stewardship Scheme and Farmland
Premium Scheme.
Woodland Establishment – design,
planning, budget forecasting and implementation of commercial
conifers, native broadleaves and farm woodlands. Our Company
operates a competitive tendering system for large operations
ensuring the best quality at the best price.
Long Term Forest
Plans - existing forests approaching the stage when
restructuring can be considered, benefit from the production
of a Long Term Forest Plan. We can design and obtain approval
for such plans in order that subsequent management is less
time consuming and therefore more efficient for the woodland
owner.
Budgeting and
Financial Control - in any project the success is
entirely dependent upon strict financial control and achieving
the budget predictions provided before the project commences.
We have a proven track record in this regard and our competitive
tendering system operates to the advantage of the woodland
owner.
SSSI Management – we
have a large number of SSSI woodland areas under management
and are well versed in negotiating management agreements on
behalf
of woodland owners with Scottish Natural Heritage.
Certification to the Forest Stewardship Council [FSC] standard is
available through our membership of the Independent Forestry Group
Certification Scheme. This means that woodlands which are certificated
have been assessed against the UK Woodland Assurance Scheme [UKWAS]
and are found to be managed according to strict environmental, social
and economic standards and further that they have been independently
inspected and certificated in accordance with the rules of the Forest
Stewardship Council [FSC].
Certification is a fundamental requirement when considering offering
for sale any reasonable quantity of timber.
Our Company offers a digital mapping system [ArcView GIS] and has
experienced operators capable of producing the highest quality maps
and information which are now required to present the detail on woodland
proposals in the best possible light.
It appears most woodlands are affected to a greater or lesser degree
by the numerous overhead and underground equipment. Over the last
few years our Company has negotiated successfully on a large number
of properties, considerable compensation due to the presence of such
equipment.
